Bring 'em home, Benedict!

Perhaps we will see a return of some traditional Anglicans to unam, sanctam Catholicam et apostolicam Ecclesiam under the guiding hand of our Supreme Pontiff and the Patriarch of the West, Pope Benedict XVI.

Hi guys! I agree with you that traditional Anglicans should be granted some kind of prelature so that they can maintain their liturgical traditions while becoming one with Rome. I really love the high Anglican traditions. While studying at Oxford last year for a semester, I went to a couple Anglican liturgies at St. Mary the Virgin at the chathedral at Christ Church college. The music and ceremonies were so cool. I wish we could have some of that especially in San Diego! Do you really think the new pope will will bring em home?

Accuracy is over-rated. Poor Kelley, the victim of a Vaticanisti tongue-lashing. Now she knows how Charles Curran and Hans Kung felt. Back to my liturgical dance class....

Dear Fr. Bob,

Thank you for bringing up the topic of liturgical dance. Of course, this particular expression has a venerable place in the tradition of the Roman Rite.

In fact, let's take a look at what Jungmann has to say about it--scanning the index now. The Vaticanisti find entries for: Liturgical Books . . . Liturgical ceremonial rights . . . Liturgical ground-plan . . .

What's that? Where was the entry for "Liturgical dance"? NOWHERE! Because, as you know, regarding liturgical dance, Jungmann says--NOTHING!

Why? Because, while the Psalmist may refer to dancing in the context of worshiping God in Israel, this is completely made-up in the context of the Roman Rite, an unfortunate so-called "development" by inept liturgists (we shudder at the word), attempting to reinvent what beauty in the liturgy is.

Thanks be to God that you're only kidding, Fr.! The Vaticanisti look forward to more correspondence with you in the future. Right now, though, the Vaticanisti must go, as we are working on a new arrangement of "Sing A New Church Into Being" for the kazoo.
